Tech Ed 02 |
Tech Ed 02 will be held in Long Beach February 25-27, 2002. Terri Beam, Vic Zamora, and Deb Distante will be presenters at the conference. |
For those not attending the conference, free passes may be obtained to view the exhibits. Since several committee members will be at Tech Ed 02, the February 26th EDC meeting has been canceled. |

Online Readiness Study |
Terri would like feedback from instructors who used the SOLAR quiz in the 2001 Fall semester. |
Terri will send an email or letter to all online instructors regarding the use of SOLAR and ask for feedback from those who used the quiz. |

Course Management Systems |
A flyer was placed in all full-time faculty mailboxes announcing the activities planned, timeline, and commitment for the course management systems task group. Kerry Stern noted that CVC4 was offering an online workshop from February 19–March 8 on course management systems. |
Nine individuals have responded to the flyer and will attend the first meeting on Friday, March 1, 2002. |

Planning |
Kerry, Terri, and Dwight Ayle presented a draft of possible topics to be incorporated in a planning document. Topics suggested include: course management systems, course web design and delivery, ADA compliance, faculty training, faculty support, student support, hardware, software, development, policy, marketing, communication issues, staffing, budget, research, and recruitment. |
Committee members were asked to review the topics and be prepared to discuss it at the next meeting. |

Other |
, Terri, Kerry, and Dwight will attend a CVC2 advisory meeting at Rio Hondo College on February 13., On February 28, "Improving Multimedia and Online Courses with Instructional Design" will be shown from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm in 6-160. , An Ed Tech Award nomination needs to be submitted to the Chancellor’s Office by February 22. |
