Honors Program |
Carolyn Inmon reported that there are over 700 students in the Honors program. She stated that Honors is a curriculum program and while Honors courses meet the requirements of regular courses, students work at a more challenging level. |

Purpose and Function |
EDC reviewed the revised draft of the "Purpose and Function" statements. |
The revised statements will be sent to AMAC. |

Review Drafts |
Drafts were reviewed of a letter to department chairs regarding faculty changes to Distance Learning courses and a letter to faculty regarding syllabi for Distance Learning courses. |
Revisions were made to both letters. A new draft will be brought to the January meeting. |
|
Course Management Systems |
Terri Beam has arranged for Sue Roig of CVC2 to give an overview of Web CT, Blackboard, and other course management systems at the next EDC meeting on Tuesday, December 11. |
Kerry Stern will arrange to have the meeting in the Library Meeting Room, 6-222, and advertise through an online campus announcement. Terri will make an announcement at the Academic Senate meeting. |

Special Programs Day |
Dwight Ayle proposed a recognition day to give a wider forum for promoting special programs. |
Discussion followed, and ideas will be pursued in the future. |
