Retreat will be Friday, March 9, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at Kellogg West. Most of the EDC has registered. Kerry Stern said it was important for those teaching online to attend and urged all of the EDC to register or at least to participate in the online discussion. The online discussion will be held March 4-8 and March 10-16, and will be moderated by Kerry, Terri Beam, Dwight Ayle, and Carol Craig. It will be a structured discussion using Web Board. Carol will put up a tutorial on how to use Web Board. A list of invitees was circulated, and Kerry asked if there was anyone not on the list who should be invited. The retreat will be an information gathering process designed to help in creating a growth plan for Distance Learning.
Mt. SAC is the site for the Pre-conference to be held on Sunday, March 25. Kerry noted that there is still a need for many volunteers.

There will be a new layout for the Summer Class Schedule - each Distance Learning class and its pertinent information will be listed with the full course offerings, and the Distance Learning section will now contain a list of courses, titles, reference numbers, and units.
The EDC will need to address the problem of inappropriate material being posted on discussion boards. Although there has only been one incident, a recommendation was made to list what is and isn't appropriate to post and that the EDC should determine a set of procedures and guidelines for faculty to use for future reference.
