EDC
Meeting
Time |
A suggestion was made to change the EDC meeting time in
the Fall Semester to the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 12:30 - 2:00 pm. Dwight
Ayle will post a matrix online to help determine if this time slot will work in the EDC
members' schedules. |

Hybrid
Course |
Terri and Vic Zamora will be teaching a six week, two
unit course for faculty, "Introduction to Online Learning," starting Fall,
2001. |
| Conferences |
EDC would like to support attendance of its members at
conferences and will check on funding availability.
- TechEd, Chicago: Conference will be held Sept. 24-26,2001. Proposal deadline for
presentations is June 1.
- TechEd, Long Beach: Conference will be held Feb. 25-28, 2002. Proposal deadline
for presentations is June 22.
- League for Innovation in the Community College: Conference on Information
Technology will be held November 14-17, 2001 in Minneapolis, MN.
- CVC Conference: "Online Learning and Higher Education" will be held
October 14-16, 2001 in Huntington Beach.
- Online Workshop: "Evaluating Course Management Systems" will be held
June 4-30, sponsored by Sloan Center for Online Education (SCOLE) at Babson College
and Olin College in Massachusetts.

Practices
Retreat |
EDC members were supportive of hosting a Best Practices
Retreat that would use the same format as the Hybrid Distance Learning Retreat with
threaded discussions and postings prior to and after the face-to-face retreat. |

Dwight Ayle presented a draft of "Policy on
Collaborative Activities" for web-based learning. |
