THE HONORS PROGRAM

Eligibility Requirements

First Time College Students

(including high school students)
  • Eligibility for English 1A
  • 3.5 GPA (weighted is okay)
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • Short Essay

High School Students

  • Turn in your Honors application with your official final transcript, essay, and Letter of Recommendation after applying to Mt. SAC
  • You must attend Honors Orientation (contact the Honors Office for dates and times)

Students Who Have Already Attended College:

  • Completed at least 9 transferable (bachelor level) units
  • Eligibility for English 1A
  • 3.2 transferable GPA
  • Teacher recommendation
  • Essay

Application

Submit the Following:

(Letter of recommendation waived for students with a Mt. SAC bachelor-level GPA of 3.5 or higher)
  • Application  (In order to save information on the form, you must first download the file and open in Acrobat.)
  • Work in Progress form (if you are applying mid-semester or later)
  • Proof of English 1A eligibility
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Essay
