General Education Outcomes

Mt. San Antonio College has distinguished itself in higher education as a premier community college with general education requirements that instill in students an understanding of the human condition and of human accomplishments and encourages a life-long interest in learning.

“general education courses emphasize the ability to reason, to examine issues from different perspectives, to challenge authority, and to communicate ideas logically and confidently”

The goal of General Education Outcome (GEOs) is to improve general education curriculum to the ultimate benefit of our students. It is through general education that the college fulfills its mission to provide quality transfer, career, and life-long learning programs that prepare students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in an interconnected world.

GEOs are statements that define the knowledge, skills, and perspectives acquired by students who satisfy our general education requirements.

General Education Outcome Zones have been established at Mt. SAC. For more information about GEOs, read the FAQ document. You can review the General Education Outcome Zones here. You are also invited to participate in an online discussion forum to discuss ideas, comments, and suggestions about the GEOs.
