If you want to learn to speak English, enroll in our English as a Second Language (ESL) program. We offer up to seven levels of literacy/ESL instruction, leading up to the Vocational English as a Second Language (VSEL) program.

Literacy & Pre-Level

For students with no experience in English. Recognize and use common English words.
 

Levels 1 & 2

Develop basic spoken and written English for everyday needs.
 

Levels 3 & 4

Increase conversational fluency, vocabulary and grammar accuracy.
 

Levels 5 & 6

Focus language learning toward personal academic and vocational goals. This level prepares you to advance to VSEL.
 

Vocational English as a Second Language (VSEL)

Combines noncredit, advanced-level ESL with credit, vocational classes to help advance students move into college credit programs at Mt. SAC.
