Thank you for your interest in working with ESL at Mt. San Antonio College.
All of our faculty positions are part-time. Hours of assignment range from 3 to 22 per week. New instructors are paid according to a step-and-column rate relative to their educational qualification, beginning at $48.33 per contact hour. Although we are usually fully-staffed, we always welcome applications from qualified candidates.
Most of our instructors have a Master´s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/TESL/TEFL). Some have a Bachelor´s degree in English, journalism, linguistics, a foreign language, intercultural studies, or a related field PLUS a graduate-level certificate in TESOL. For a detailed list of qualifications and a faculty application, please email Marchelle Nairne-Proulx, ESL Secretary, at mnairne-proulx@mtsac.edu or click the links below. In addition to a faculty application, please submit a resume, two letters of recommendation preferably on company letterhead, and your transcipts. Copies of transcripts are fine for application purposes; official, sealed transcripts will be required upon employment.
We also employ Student Assistant (SA) staff who help with a range of instructional activities in the ESL Instructional Support Office. All of our SA workers are current Mt. SAC students enrolled in credit courses; they must be eligible for or have passed English 1A. To find out more, stop by the ESL Instructional Support Office or call the ESL Coordinator at (909) 274 - 5004.
We have a very limited number of clerical support staff, and there are no openings at this time. We appreciate your interest in our program!
