Fee Classes - Children and Teens

Acting

Commercial Acting for Kids and Teens (ages 6-17)
This 2-day seminar will teach you to act like a pro while on location at the famous Zydeco Casting Studio. In these fun, challenging and informative classes, you will learn about:

  • Commercial acting and auditioning
  • The right way to enter the industry
  • Professional tools (photos and resumes)
  • Optional discounted color headshot
  • All work is on camera plus you will receive a tape to keep. The instructor, June Chandler heads up the well-known Young Actors Workshop, which is regarded as a top source for new talent.

DANCE

Cheerleading/ Songleading/ Tumbling (Ages 5-13)
Are you energetic? Try this fun class. Learn dance routines incorporated with cheers, chants and beginning gymnastics. Gain self-confidence in a group/team environment while having fun. Jazz dance is strongly emphasized.

Ballet (Ages 8-12)
Ballet technique is taught through the use of barre work, stretching, body-placement and center floor. Terminology and history will be introduced. Ballet is the foundation for most dance movement. It instills discipline, self- esteem and coordination while having fun!

Ballet and Tap (Ages 3-4)
A fun class that introduces your child to the world of dance. Basic movements in ballet and tap are incorporated with various skills to improve rhythm, motor movements, coordination, musicality, strength, grace, social skills as well as building confidence.

Ballet and Tap (Ages 4-5)
A fun class for your little dancer. Ballet and tap techniques are taught through various exercises focusing on incorporating motor skills, musicality, coordination, strength, grace and social skills. Builds confidence, discipline, following direction and listening through the fun art of dance.

Jazz Dance (Ages 5-7)
Learn jazz techniques, routines, jumps and turns. Class begins with warm-up and stretches, followed by traveling movements and finishing with an exciting routine. Gain strength, flexibility and confidence while getting a workout!

Hip Hop/Funk/Street (Ages 7-12)
Love to dance? A high energy, fun class to teach the current hip dance styles accompanied by R & B, Rap and Pop oriented music. Look like your favorite artist in their latest music video. Gain confidence, musicality, coordination and a sense of style through self-expression.

Jazz Dance (Ages 8-12)

Tap (Ages 9-13)
Learn the art of percussion dance through barre exercises, progressions across the floor and fun combinations and routines guaranteed to excite your tapping toes. Rhythm, coordination and musicality are stressed while increasing stamina in a fun class!

Ballet (Ages 5-7)

Tap (Ages 5-7)
Learn the art of precision dance through barre exercises, progressions across the floor and fun combinations and routines guaranteed to excite your tapping toes. Rhythm, coordination and musicality is stressed while increasing stamina. It's a fun class.

MUSIC

Beginning Piano for Children(Ages 6-13) Kids 1
An educational system of learning to read and play music is emphasized incorporating Suzuki teaching methods. Parental assistance is encouraged.

Beginning Piano for Children(Ages 6-13) Kids 2
An educational system of learning to read and play music is emphasized incorporating Suzuki teaching methods. Parental assistance is encouraged.

Group Suzuki Violin - Beginners (Ages 6 thru Adult)
Sizing, rental and purchasing information will be discussed at the first class. There will be a recital the last day of class.

Group Suzuki Violin - Book 1A
Students must be able to play in the keys of A and D and know how to play up to "May Song" or the equivalent. Please bring Suzuki Book 1 to class. There is a recital the last day of class.

Group Suzuki Violin - Book 1B & Book 2
A continuation of 1A. Students must complete Suzuki Group Violin Book 1A class prior to registration in 1B. There will be a recital the last day of class.

Group Suzuki Violin - Books 3 and 4
Students must be able to play in the keys of A, D, G, F, B major and G minor, and know how to play the "Martini Gavotte" or the equivalent. Suzuki Violin Books 3 and 4 are needed. There will be a recital the last day of class.

Chamber Music for Strings - Violin Levels 5-8
This course is designed with the accomplished student in mind who reads music well and has had experience playing in an orchestra. Chamber music will challenge and develop every aspect of the student's musicianship because it places greater demands on the individual for expression, technical accuracy, listening skills and sensitivity to others within the ensemble. We will explore the sonata, trio or quartet repertoire with a public presentation at the last class.

Chamber Music for Strings-Viola Levels 5-8
This course is designed with the accomplished student in mind who reads music well and has had experience playing in an orchestra. Chamber music will challenge and develop every aspect of the student's musicianship because it places greater demands on the individual for expression, technical accuracy, listening skiills and sensitivity to others within the ensemble. We will explore the sonata, trio or quartet repertoire with a public presentation at the last class.

Chamber Music for Strings-Cello Levels 5-8
This course is designed with the accomplished student in mind who reads music well and has had experience playing in an orchestra. Chamber music will challenge and develop every aspect of the student's musicianship because it places greater demands on the individual for expression, technical accuracy, listening skills and sensitivity to others within the ensemble. We will explore the sonata, trio or quartet repertoire with a public presentation at the last class.
