EDUCATIONAL TOURS
Presented by Mt. SAC and the Mt. SAC Foundation
Are you looking for a unique travel experience which allows more time to absorb the sites, sounds and culture of a city or region?
The College with the Mt. SAC Foundation has developed a new, small group, experiential travel program for people who want to learn about the art, architecture, culture, crafts and food of a specific country, city or region. Programs will include special visits and lectures to unique locations, cooking classes and culinary excursions, visits to local artists and craftsmen in their homes and studios, time to soak up the sites and sounds of the region, and an opportunity to experience the world we live in. Groups are lead by seasoned travelers and educators and with the exception of the “Alpine Countries and the Passion Play” are limited in size to 14-18 people.

Coming in 2009:
"France - the Loire Valley and the Dordongue"
Through the Valley of the Dordogne, rolling green hills adorned with majestic chateaux seem never ending. Here, Paleolithic artists left behind mystical sketches of their saga on cave walls and Knights of the Round Table found refuge within castle walls. Today the Dordogne continues to be one of the most beautiful regions in France. Loire Valley is known as the Garden of France and its’ landscape illustrate the ideals of the Renaissance and Age of Enlightenment on western European thought and design. Whether sailing along the Dordogne River or exploring historic caves, the Loire Valley offers a unique glimpse into the present and past.
Your hosts will be Jim Sanders and Dominique Parisot, owners of Moulin des Vignes Vieilles and Private Adventures. Jim, an American and former architect, along with Dominique, originally from Burgundy, have over 20 years of experience in specialized tours. Their warm hospitality and intimate knowledge of the region will make your visit a special one. “Art de Vivre” literally means the art of living and this is the focus of Jim and Dominiques’ tours. Their goal is to assist each traveler in experiencing and appreciating the unique customs, cultures and lifestyles and bounties of the region.

Also, the intricate costumes are made locally by the villagers. This is truly an unforgettable event.
