Individuals interested in pursuing a high school diploma
or GED.
Individuals with a desire/need to further their education
and/or career.
How
do I enroll in the GED or High School Diploma Program? 
The
first step to earning a high school education or GED is
attending an orientation session. Orientation sessions are
offered twice a week for both the GED and Adult High School
Diploma Program. Each orientation is led by a counselor
in the program who provides specific information about the
program goals and your role in the diploma programs. An
appointment is necessary for attendance.
To
schedule an appointment and attend orientation, please contact

ext. 4937. Please bring a pen and your official high school
transcripts to the orientation.

Where
is the High School office located? 
The
high school office is located in building 30, room #115,
on the far north corner of campus. We are located adjacent
to Sherman Park, off Bonita Drive . Our office hours are
8:30A.M. - 8:30P.M. Monday - Thursday and 8:30 A.M. - 4:30
P.M. on Friday's. To contact the high school office, please

What
are the class hours? 
The
AHSD program is a positive attendance study program. Students
attend class during the hours of 9AM - 1PM , Mon. - Friday,
and 4:30PM - 8:30 P.M. Mon-Thurs. This program does not
follow a traditional school schedule in that classes are
ongoing. Please contact the high school office at ext. 4937
to obtain the current orientation schedule.

Beginning
with the 2005-2006 school year, state law requires THAT HIGH SCHOOL students in California public schools pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) to receive a high schoo diploma.
What
do I do after I attend orientation? 
After
attending orientation and taking the assessments, an initial
counseling appointment is required. During the initial counseling
session the counselor will provide the student with an overview
of the remaining requirements for the high school diploma
and discuss any concerns the student may have. All students
are encouraged to meet with a counselor at least once each
semester to ensure that they remain on target for graduation.
Career
counseling is also available for students seeking major
and career advisement. Counselors are continually available
for guidance and support throughout your educational career
in building 30, room # 115. Please dial (909) 594-5611 ext. 4937 to schedule
an appointment with a counselor.
How do I register? 
You must first obtain a referral form from your high school counselor. Next, make an
appointment for a student/parent orientation. You may call (909) 594-5611 ext. 4937
to schedule an appointment.
Can I register for a high school class without a referral form? 
No. You must have a signed referral form from your high school.
What times are classes offered? 
Classes are offered Monday-Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
How much does the program cost? 
There is no fee for the class. Students will need to purchase a Mt. San Antonio I.D.
card for $10. Students must also purchase a parking pass in the High School Office if they plan on driving to school.
How can I keep up on my child's progress and attendance in the high school class? 
Progress reports are mailed home twice a semester. Parents are also encouraged to
call the high school office to inquire about their student's progress and/or attendance.
How is the grade recorded on their high school record? 
Each high school's policy is different. Please check with your student's high school
counselor.
Are the classes counted as college credit? 
No. The courses are counted as high school credit.
Do you offer any tutoring for high school students? 
No, unfortunately, we do not offer tutoring.
How many students are there in a class? 
Approximately 30-35 students are in each class.
What is the teaching format of the class? 
It is a self-paced program. Students work independently and at their own pace. There is an instructor in each class to assist the student and monitor progress. Some classes also have teachers' aides.
Are
there any fees for the preparation? 
There are no fees for the preparation.
However, there is a fee for parking. Semester parking permits
can be obtained in Building 4. There are metered spaces
or a $2 per day pay lot.
How
do I register for the program? 
Come to Building 30 , Room 111, during CEC Lab Hours. Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 8:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Saturday, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

How
do I request an appointment with a career counselor? 
All
Community Education enrollees are eligible to receive career
counseling services. You can schedule an appointment by
calling (909) 594-5611 ext.4937 or you can come into the
High School office (Room 115) within the Community Education
Center and request an appointment with the Career Counselor.
Selection of career assessments will be discussed at this
time and the counselor with recommend any or all of the
following career assessments: interest, personality, values,
or abilities.
How
much does it cost to complete a career assessment? 
Career
counseling and assessment services are free to all Community
Education enrollees.
How
much time does it take to complete an interest, personality,
values, or abilities assessment? 
Individually, each of these assessments takes approximately
½ to 1 hour to complete.
How
fast can I get the results? 
Upon
completion of the testing, results can usually be obtained
within a week. To receive your results you must schedule
another appointment with the career counselor.
What
will my assessment results tell me about myself and how
can I use this information? 
Assessment
results can provide you with crucial information regarding
the activities that you love doing, workplace values, personality
preferences, and abilities. Knowing this information about
yourself will help your make a more informed educational
and occupational decision. You will be making an informed
choice.

What does the program entail? 
Through an integrated training program of classes and work experience participants are prepared to become an Associate Teacher of a Teacher through the California Child Development permit process. Participants receive the highest quality preparation, training and education. Individuals who participate in the CDC Program and become part of this important career path will play a key role in improving the quality of care and education provided to young children during their most critical and formative years.
