Business Division Computer Lab - Protocol

The Business Division Computer Laboratory (BDCL) is staffed and maintained to provide students with an educational environment to complete Business Division Class Assignments.  It is the intent of the Division to provide quality access to the appropraite computer hardware and software.  To the extent possible, that access will include appropriate assistance to students.

Although all currently enrolled Mt. SAC students are welcome to use the BDCL, students enrolled in a Business Division course working on a Business Division assignment have seating priority,  All others may use the computer lab to complete Mt. SAC course work on a first come, first served basis.

Should the need arise, a waiting list will be established for students enrolled in a Business Division course.  Non-Business Division students will be asked to return when the lab is not full.

Please, only one student per work station.  Exceptions to this rule must be authorized by the instructor of the class or a lab supervisor.  Children are not permitted in the lab unless they are enrolled in a computer class that required lab time.  Children must not be left unattended outside the lab while a 'parent-student' or guardian works in the lab.  When all work stations are in use, only Business Division students with Business Division classes requiring lab work will be placed on a waiting list for the next available work station.   Non-Business Division students will be asked to return when the lab is not full.

Also, when there are students waiting for work stations to complete class assignments, all students performing "personal" web messaginging, emailing, and social networking tasks will be asked to leave so that those with official classroom work can compelte their assignments.

REMEMBER, No cell phones are to be used inside the BDCL lab.   Also, please no food and/or drinks allowed in labs or classrooms.   Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
