Each of the Center's programs or classrooms is staffed by a Master
teacher, Associate Teacher and varying numbers of classroom assistants,
depending on the ratio for that program.
|
Each Master Teacher and Associate Teacher holds a California Child
Development permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher
credentialing and is trained in anti-bias, multicultural curriculum.
All Center staff is enrolled in either Child Development classes or
a related field, which is a testament to their commitment to children.
All children enrolled in the Center are assessed throughout the year
using portfolios and a system of thorough documentation. The
assessment tools employed are the Desired Results Developmental
Profile (DRDP) and/or the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ).
Assessments are done in a naturalistic setting using
extensive observations to determine a child's skill level and mastery
in each of the developmental domains.
Parent input is also an integral part of assessment.
From 2005 to the present day, the Child Development Center has been
accredited as an exemplary program by the
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
.
