The philosophy of education at the Mt. San Antonio College Child Development Center is based on child development research and theory, which finds that children form most of their attitudes about self and learning by the age of five. Our goals for children focus on learning environments and a meaningful curriculum that fosters and encourages each child's maximum physical, psychosocial and cognitive potential.

We also embrace teacher-child ratios which allow for the development of nurturing relationships between the adult and child; relationships that cultivate trust, communication skills, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution and independence. We believe a strong foundation in the above areas, including early math, science, and literacy skills enable children to enter the K-12 system prepared and excited to learn!
