This course is a survey and analysis of the components of fitness and wellness.   Effects of fitness on optimal health, well-being, concepts of human movement, fitness program design, stress management, nutrition and weight maintenance.
(54 hours lecture;      Degree appropriate, CSU, UC)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Examine components of Fitness and Wellness.
  2. Develop personal fitness programs.
  3. Describe safe and effective exercise programs.
  4. Identify common assessments for components of fitness.
  5. Analyze current levels of stress and identify appropriate types of stress management and relaxation techniques.
  6. Identify common treatment procedures for exercise related injuries.
  7. Identify the relationship of exercise on disease prevention.
  8. Compare nutritional habits with federal nutritional guidelines.
