INSP 71 - Construction
                Estimating   (3 units)
This course covers the basics of bidding procedures and interrelationship of documents and estimating.  Detailed calculation of cost based on the amount of required building materials using actual working drawings, estimating forms, and cost data courses.
(54 hours lecture;      Degree appropriate, CSU)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Review the basic operations in mathematics related to square footage of structure.
  2. Solve basic problems in construction estimation.
  3. Prepare a construction bid using plans for a simple building.
  4. Assess the relationship of the construction bid to the construction documents.
  5. Compare methods for bids to improve quality control.
