COMP 60 Course Image
This course uses popular desktop publishing software to integrate text and graphics to design, edit, and produce high-quality business publications.
 
(54 hours lecture;   54 hours lab;     Degree appropriate, CSU)
(May be taken three times for credit.  May be taken for option of letter grade or Credit / No Credit.)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Define desktop publishing.
  2. Create various publications through the use of templates or custom design.
  3. Develop appropriate design aspects for a given publication.
  4. Manage the flow of publication stories in text boxes.
  5. Integrate text, graphic objects, and other design elements to create professional-looking business publications.
  6. Prepare publications for printing.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students completing COMP 60 - Business Publications Using Desktop Publishing Software will demonstrate knowledge of the planning guidelines intended to assist them in developing an appropriate design of a given publication.
  2. Students completing COMP 60 - Business Publications Using Desktop Publishing Software will demonstrate ability to produce a variety of professional-looking business publications (at least five)--i.e. newsletter, flyer, brochure, business card, letterhead, event program, etc.
