This course covers practical hands-on instruction using the Internet for research in a business environment.  Master Internet-specific research techniques, discover timesaving tips for locating and managing information, and use the entire Internet, newsgroups, FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and mailing lists.
 
(27 hours lecture;   27 hours lab;   Degree appropriate, CSU)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate how to set up and use an E-mail account.
  2. Demonstrate how to use search resources to locate specific information.
  3. Demonstrate how to copy, save and print located information.
  4. Demonstrate how to download files (text, graphics, video, and sound) into a variety of documents.
  5. Select and summarize information into a concise business report.
  6. Produce a final project using hyperlinks.
