ID 38 - Internship in
            Interior Design
            (Variable units: 1-3)

Designed to provide the student with actual on-the-job experience in the interior design profession, which relates to student's classroom based learning. Placement is not guaranteed but assistance is provided by the interior design faculty.  A minimum 75 paid clock hours or 60 non-paid clock hours per semester is required.  Students who repeat this course will improve skills through further instruction and practice.
(75 hours lab      Degree applicable, CSU)
Prerequisite:  Compliance with Work Experience/Internship regulations as designated in the College Catalog.

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Develop "real world" work experience and practical applications to classroom theory in interior design.
  2. Examine and analyze career roles in interior design or related fields as a transition from school to work.
  3. Demonstrate appropriate interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Observe and assist in the production design projects.
  5. Develop profession work habits.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students completing 'ID 38 - Internship in Interior Design' will:
    1. successfully complete required hours.
