CISS 27 Course Image
This course will cover hands-on defending and securing a computer and network system.   The students will work in teams to learn how to respond to and mitigate an attack.   This course will also ensure that students learn to write reports on how they defended or were unable to defend the system.
(54 hours lab)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Be able to set up a system to have all the services running
  2. Be able install/build security into the system
  3. Be able to detect an intrusion, breach or an attack
  4. Be able to apply different strategies to defend the intrusion breach or attack
  5. Write reports and prepare presentations of the intrusion, breach or attack

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing CISS 27 - Defending Computer Systems will be able to:
  1. write a report and prepare a presentation that analyzes a network intrusion, breach, or attack.
  2. install a virtual server and configure the system to have all services running.
