CISS 15 Course Image
This course covers advanced aspects of operating systems security: from how attackers operate to how viruses strike.  A lot of the course covers how to strengthen operating systems and repell attacks.

The student will gain a fundamental knowledge of a full range of security concepts and techniques and application to different operating systems (Windows, Unix, etc).

  1. Analyze different aspects of operating systems security.
  2. Recognize and eradicate viruses.
  3. Implement authentication and encryption.
  4. Perform operating system backups.
  5. Implement VPN security.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing CISS 15 - Operating Systems Security will be able to:
  1. strengthen security of any operating system by installing a Firewall.
  2. install a safe and secure wireless network using computers with different operating systems (Windows, Mac etc.).
