This course teaches the student the Windows Server Network and the adminstration of network security.

Topics covered include:
  • server/client installation
  • file system security
  • logon script
  • network printing
  • web and terminal server
  • active directory security and policy management
  • DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
  • DNS (Domain Name Service)
  • NAT, IPsec, and secure VPN

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Explain TCP/IP subnet, IPsec, NAT, and secured VPN.
  2. Set up Windows server and client.
  3. Manage AD, file system security, DHCP, WINS, and DNS.
  4. Configure profile, policy (security), logon script, and network printing services.
  5. Deploy network software centrally and securely.
  6. Demonstrate and explain terminal access, Web, Mail, FTP, Telnet, and secure remote.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing CISN 24 - Windows Server Network & Security Administration will be able to:
  1. configure and install Windows Active Directory.
