CISB 16 Course Image
 
This course teaches the basic skills and in-depth practice operating the Apple Macintosh computer.  Includes introduction to the operating system, paint, draw, word-processing, database, spreadsheet, and multi-media applications.
 
(27 hours lecture;      Degree appropriate, CSU)
(May be taken for option of letter grade or Credit / No Credit.)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Operate and manipulate the mouse to access all levels of the file structure and to do all desktop-related tasks.
  2. Use the operating system to manage files and folders.
  3. Use Apple System Preferences.
  4. Utilize keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse.
  5. Prepare and maintain removable media for file transfer.
  6. Create documents in a variety of applications.
  7. Create a hierarchical file structure.
  8. Utilize multitasking features.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing CISB 16 - Macintosh Applications will:
  1. be able to correctly identify the names and locations of key areas of the Finder Window.
  2. successfully create a 15 picture iPhoto slideshow.
