This course examines the law relating to real and personal property.
Analysis of the various forms of ownership of real property; easements, covenants,
conditions, and licenses; constitutional questions; types of real estate deeds; and
land use controls.

Course Measurable Objectives:
- Classify interests in property and forms of ownership.
- Explain the concepts of adverse possession, easements, covenants, conditions and liens.
- Compare the results on clients of various real estate financing options, tax rules, and civil rights and fair housing legislation.
- Identify land use control measures and describe their implications for land owners.
- Contrast methods of conveyancing such as contracts for sale, transfer of title by deeds, wills and gifts.
- Compare and contrast causes of action in personal property for conversion, fraud and misrepresentation.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:
Students completing PLGL 41 - Property Law will be able to:
- successfully identify the differences among different types of property ownership (community property, joint tenancy, and tenancy in common).
- successfully discuss at least four ways to transfer title to real property.
