PLGL 31B Course Image
This course instructs you on the preparation of research memoranda, trial briefs, appellate briefs and other paralegal documents.  Continuation of PLGL 31A, Legal Analysis and Writing.
 
(54 hours lecture;      Degree appropriate, CSU)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Analyze fact situations and determine justifiable issues.
  2. Prepare a research memorandum to establish an appropriate course of action based on case law, statutes, and issues.
  3. Analyze pleadings to determine facts and issues.
  4. Assess legal issues for trial
  5. Prepare trial briefs.
  6. Analyze and draft appellate briefs.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing PLGL 31B - Advanced Legal Analysis and Writing will be able to:
  1. prepare a legal memorandum.
