This course instructs you on the use of a law library for legal research and references,
reading and analyzing codes and statutes, and preparation of case briefs and research
reports.

Corequisite:
PLGL 30 - Introduction to Paralegal / Legal
or BUSL 30 (which is now PLGL 30) (May have been taken previously)

Course Measurable Objectives:
- Identify and describe legal research techniques.
- Analyze legal research sources for application to specific projects.
- Identify and compare primary and secondary sources of authority.
- Appraise court opinions.
- Prepare proper legal citations.
- Prepare case briefs.
- Analyze statutes.

Students completing PLGL 31A - Legal Analysis and Writing will be able to :
- distinguish between and use the various manual legal research resources.
- brief a moderately complex legal case.
