This course investigates the characteristics and role of advertising and promotion in
business are explored. Emphasis is placed on promotional mix, trend and forecast
research, and developing a comprehensive multimedia promotion plan including advertising
layout and copy.
Students may not receive credit for both BUSS 33 and FASH 63.

Course Measurable Objectives:
- Differentiate between the various media available to promote sales.
- Identify sources of information needed for research, planning and evaluating promotion mix.
- Compare and contrast effectiveness of promotional campaigns.
- Select media appropriate for various advertising campaigns.
- Analyze factors affecting response to media stimuli.
- Determine how advertising and promotion relates to a company's marketing strategy.
- Create position statement and advertising goals and objectives.
- Develop advertisement layout and copy.
- Synthesize skills learned and design a multimedia promotional plan for a company.

Students completing BUSS 33/FASH 63 Advertising and Promotion will be able to:
- produce a creative multi-media marketing campaign for an existing business.
- research a selected brand and develop a profile of the company and the media used for marketing and advertising
