This course presents a comparative approach to the study of the international legal environment for business. Cultural, political, economic and ethical issues are emphasized as well as traditional business law subjects such as sales, commercial paper, corporate law, agency, licensing, employment, crimes, trade regulation and technology transfers.

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Evaluate the legal environment of international business and resolution of legal disputes.
  2. Apply the laws of sales contracts, credits and commercial paper to international transactions.
  3. Analyze international and U.S. trade laws.
  4. Evaluate regulations that exist in the international marketplace.
  5. Analyze political risks involved in international business decisions.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing BUSL 20 - International Business Law will be able to :
  1. distinguish between doing business domestically and doing business internationally.
