'BUSM' -- Business Management Courses
 
    
 

 

Two employees working together.
This course provides business majors with a forum to gain knowledge, develop techniques, problem solve and implement an actual business plan.  Special emphasis will be placed on the particular project of the actual business used as the class project.   Students who repeat this course will improve skills through further instruction and practice.
(Spring Semester)
(36 hours lecture;      Degree appropriate)
(May be taken for option of letter grade or Credit / No Credit)
(May be taken two times for credit.)

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Analyze businesses and identify objectives to be accomplished.
  2. Develop and implement business plans to include customer surveys, business activities and business directives.
  3. Develop and manage budgets for a business.
  4. Evaluate the effectiveness of business plans.
  5. Present business plans to the business owner, identifying and explaining planned results.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing BUSM 85 - Special Issues in Business will:
  1. have discovered new knowledge that relate to discipline, technical and human skills, enabling them to be productive members of the community.
  2. have developed a genuine professional interest in topics related to the courses completed that will contribute toward motivation for life-long learning.
  3. have developed the ability to relate material from each course completed to their current and future professional needs, even if these needs fall into a different discipline.
