Our CIS program provides students with flexibility to prepare for a wide variety of professional positions in IT-related areas. In addition to some of the traditional roles of business or systems analyst or programmer, selected groups of electives can be used to focus on a number of areas, depending on your career interests. Such focus areas might include:
  • Data Management (Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Software Development (Visual Basic, Java, C++, C#)
  • Web Development
  • Computer and Systems Security
  • Networking and Telecommunications
  • e-Commerce / e-Business
It is important to discuss career interests and options with a CIS advisor early in your program, so you can jointly plan your electives to best prepare you for your desired future.
