The CIS department offers these two 'Auxiliary' Courses:
- CISX 94 - Laboratory Studies in Computer Information Systems
- CISX 97 - Work Experience in Computer Information Systems

This course provides extended laboratory experiences supplementary to those available in the regular
program and allows the student to pursue more advanced and complex laboratory projects and experiments.
Students who repeat this course will increase skill proficiencies in Computer Information Systems.

Prerequisite:
Laboratory course in the same subject field and program specialization
and depending on space availability.

Course Measurable Objectives:
- Undertake supplemental work and complete activities at more sophisticated levels and of more complex natures than students enrolled only in regular laboratory classes.
- Apply skills and demonstrate knowledge previously acquired in the planning, implementation and completion of the project or experiment for this class.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:
Students completing CISX 94 - Laboratory Studies in Computer Information Systems will be able to:

Provides CIS students with actual on-the-job experience in an approved work site
which is related to classroom-based learning. A minimum of 75 paid clock hours or
60 non-paid clock hours per semester is required for each one unit of credit.  
Work experience placement is not guaranteed but assistance is provided.
Students who repeat this course will improve skills through further instruction and practice.

Course Measurable Objectives:
- Demonstrate the ability to interview at a work site and present oneself professionally.
- Demonstrate the ability to dress appropriately for the work site.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow employment policies of the worksite.
- Demonstrate the ability to build self-identity and confidence as a worker.
- Demonstrate the ability to complete an employment application.
- Apply skills learned in the classroom under actual work conditions.
- Write measurable learning objectives.
- Evaluate accomplishment of learning objectives and effectiveness of the work site and program.
- Develop a record of work experience.
