Virtually every real estate transaction involves an escrow and requires the services of
an escrow professional.
A person beginning in escrow might work as an escrow assistant, and with experience
and additional training become an escrow officer.

Mt. SAC offers all of the courses needed for the salesperson license or the more advanced
real estate broker license. Students desiring a more comprehensive education can
obtain a Certificate or an Associate Degree in real estate.

Real Estate Appraisal Certificate (L0513)
A trainee license is required for entry into the field. The license is issued
upon compeltion of a minimum of 90 hours of course work and passing a state exam
administered by the Office of Real Estate Appraisers (OREA). Students may
take only the minimum number of courses required for the license, or they may pursue
either this certificate or an Associate Degree in real estate appraisal.
Positions are available as an appraiser trainee. With additional experience
and course work, the appraiser trainee can advance to residential, certified residential,
and then to the certified general licenses.
This Real Estate Appraisal Certificate program is intended to prepare students for
employment following graduation.
