Mt. SAC's Women's Ensemble specializes in the performance of chamber literature written specifically for women's voices. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of styles, from the Renaissance era to pop and contemporary music of today.
In addition to attending festivals and participating in the annual Wassail Dinner, the Women's Ensemble also co-produces with Fermata Nowhere the annual "Spring Thing," which features performances by both of these groups as well as various soloists and small group ensembles from the Mt. SAC Music Department in an evening of pop, contemporary a cappella and vocal jazz.
Rehearsal time for the Women's Ensemble is devoted to music theory, sight singing, and development of the type of tone and blend necessary for treble-voiced compositions.
Auditions: Conducted during the first week of the Fall and Spring semesters.
