Justin Asher is a composer, sound designer, interactive media developer, and instructor. He also makes generative music apps and is an audio producer for podcasts.
He began his career as a record producer and session musician.
His multimedia audio work has appeared at the Center for Living Arts, Mobile, AL, Film Forum Los Angeles, Machine Project, REDCAT, Next Arena, the Wulf, STEIM institute, No Globe exhibition space, LACMA (Brody Condon), Harrison House, Dogstar festival, and the CEMEC festival.
His television composing and sound design work has appeared on NPR, MTV, ABC, CBS, History Channel, Travel Network, as well as ads for Porsche, Target, Bestbuy, Harley Davidson, Ad Council, McDonalds, Sony, Hasbro, H&R Block, Fallon agency, Cadillac, and Grameen Bank.
His music and sound work has also appeared in ﬁlms for directors Zackary Drucker, Nick Citton, Philiane Phang as well as Bigfoot Entertainment, Stella Pictures, and Levity Films.
His audio engineering work has appeared in video games by Ubisoft, Activision and NCSoft. He’s produced albums for Touch and Go, Munich records, Astralworks, Koch records, Setola Di Maiale, Crammed records, Pogus Productions, Khalija records, pfMENTUM, and Bongo Beat records.
His MFA is from California Institute of the Arts where he studied under Art
