Thank you for your interest in working with the English as a Second Language department at Mt. San Antonio College.

We accept applications for hourly teaching positions year round. Hours of assignment range from 3 to 22 per week, depending on our course type and program needs. New instructors are paid according to a step-and-column rate relative to their educational qualification, always beginning at Step 1 and Column 1 ($49.58), per district agreement. Although we are usually fully-staffed, we always welcome applications from qualified candidates and keep them on file for 6 - 12 months.

Most of our instructors have a Master´s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/TESL/TEFL). Some have a Bachelor´s degree in English, journalism, linguistics, a foreign language, intercultural studies, or a related field PLUS a graduate-level certificate in TESOL.  For electronic application forms please contact Marchelle Nairne-Proulx, ESL Administrative Specialist, at (909) 274-5231 or via email at mnairne-proulxAT_mtsac.edu. In addition to the adjunct a faculty application, the Department requires a resume, two letters of recommendation on company letterhead, and discipline related transcripts. Copies of transcripts are accepted for application purposes; however, sealed official transcripts will be required upon employment.

We also employ Instructional Assistant (IA) support staff who help with a range of instructional activities in the ESL Instructional Support Office. All of our IA staff are current Mt. SAC students enrolled in credit courses at a minimum of 6 units per semester.  They must be eligible for or have passed English 1A. To find out more, stop by the ESL Instructional Support Office in Building 66 Room 263 or contact Krystal Hong at (909) 274 - 6049 or via email at khongAT_mtsac.edu

All other hourly or permanent positions are processed through Human Resources.  We appreciate your interest in our program!
