Grace has been Director of DSP&S since August 1996.  Originally, she was hired in 1988 as a Job Placement Specialist in DSP&S.  She holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from California State University, Long Beach.  Ms. Hanson has worked with adults with disabilities for approximately 30 years.  Areas of specialty include universal design, disability law, teacher education and personnel preparation, and career counseling/job development.

Carole Ludwig has worked in Disabled Student Programs & Services since January, 1999.  Carole started as an hourly employee and became the department's full time secretary in July 2003.  Areas of specialty include budget, class scheduling, faculty & administrative support, personnel-related issues and coordination of special events.

Cyndi Van Meter–Smith has been a part of the Mt. SAC family since 1999.  In that time, she's notice how much the DSP&S department has grown. Cyndi counts it a privilege to serve the DSP&S  students of Mt SAC and looks forward to many more years to come.  Cyndi actively pursues her education and brushes up on her skills by taking classes at Mt. SAC. In her leisure time, Cyndi enjoys her passion and hobbies of cooking, flower arranging, gardening and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.

Margaret F. Palumbo has been a Receptionist/ Clerical Assistant with the Disabled Student Programs & Services since April 2004.  She was awarded her Associate of Science degree in Radiology from Mt San Antonio College in August 2001. Ms Palumbo has worked with a diverse population of Students Counselors, Professors and Staff for about 15 years both as a student assistant and classified staff member. She is extremely happy about working with the Disabled Student Programs & Services Team.

Ralph Barragan has been a tram driver since July 2007.  He enjoys working with students with disabilities.  Ralph also worked for Metropolitan Transportation Authority for 23 years. He retired in 2004.

Barbara Quinn is a counselor/learning disability specialist who has been with DSP&S since November 2001. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Ms. Quinn's areas of specialty include learning disabilities, aquired brain injuries and assisting new students in DSP&S.

Robert Coder has worked at Mt. San Antonio College for over twenty years. He has been the educational advisor for the DSP&S department since 1999. Mr. Coder is an alumnus of the College. His duties include: assisting students with course selection, providing educational plans and explaining various college rules, regulations and procedures.

Eloise C. Mejia has been an Adjunct Counselor at DSP&S since February 2008. She obtained a B.A. degree from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada and a M.S. from California State University, Los Angeles. Eloise enjoys assisting students who are in the process of rehabilitation and serving first generation, non-traditional students. She also provides educational, vocational, and career counseling.

Silva Arzunyan holds a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles.  Previously, Silva has been in healthcare and is excited to have transition to community college.  She focuses on verifications of disability, testing accommodations, management of information, scribes, and adaptable furniture in the classroom.

Julie Bradley has been working for DSP&S since March of 1998. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from University of California, Riverside and a Master's Degree from California State University, Los Angeles. Julie has worked in the Deaf community since 1993. Areas of specialty include hearing loss, sign language interpreting, and accommodations authorization.

Christopher Walker is an Instructional Specialist in speech-language pathology and has been working for DSP&S since October of 1980. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from California Lutheran University, a Master's Degree from California State University, Northridge and a  Ph.D from the University of Iowa. He is a Board Recognized Fluency Specialist. Areas of specialty include stuttering, voice disorders and neuropathologies such as acquired brain injury and stroke. For 17 years he was Chair of the professional training program in speech-language pathology at the University of Redlands. Thus, he is happy and able to provide counseling and academic advising to any student interested in the profession.

Jill Wilkerson joined the DSPS department at Mt. San Antonio College in 2001 after working for 20 years in medical rehabilitation as a Speech-Language Pathologist , Manager and Clinical Case Manager, first at UCI Medical Center, then Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation. Her primary area of expertise is in Acquired Brain Injury. While at Mt. San Antonio College, she has broadened her skills and interests to include Learning Disabilities, and Attention Deficit Disorder and the use of assistive technology for students with a variety of disabilities. In addition, she is very interested in Veterans' transition to a college setting.

    Christine Tunstall joined DSP&S in 1988, initially as part of a grant to develop the DSPS High Tech Center and the Acquired Brain Injury program.  She has MS degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and in Educational Psychology, and previously worked  in medical rehabilitation.  Christine loves studying how the brain works and how learning happens, which has fueled her interests in brain injury, seizure disorders, memory, and learning in mathematics.

Tim Zaal has been an Alternate Media Technician since August 2007. He holds an Associates in Science degree in Alcohol and Drug counseling from Mt. San Antonio College. In addition, Mr. Zaal works with human rights and community organizations promoting mutual respect and understanding through education.

Brian Heflin has been an Alternate Media Technician at Mt. SAC since 2007.  Prior to coming to Mt. SAC, he worked with non-profits in the area of graphic design and digital media, as well as community outreach.

Heather Ponce has worked for Mt. SAC since December 2005 as an Instructional Specialist in the High Tech Center. Heather is trained as a Speech-Language Pathologist and received her Master's degree in 2000 from California State University Hayward (now known as East Bay). Areas of special interests include aphasia, Traumatic Brain Injury, and various speech/language disorders.

Don Potter began his position of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services Manager in January 2009 after working at Mt. SAC as both a sign language interpreter and faculty member. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, as well as Certificates of Interpreting and Transliterating from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and a Master Interpreter Certification from the National Association of the Deaf. He has worked as an interpreter and interpreter educator in the US and Canada for 25 years with an emphasis on American Sign Language interpretation.

Lori Mahan has been working as a Student Services Program Specialist  in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services since November 2007.  She completed Mt. SAC's interpreter training program in 2005 and worked as an interpreter for two years.  Lori thoroughly enjoys working with the students of Mt. SAC, the interpreters and captioners, and the DSP&S staff.

Vanessa Ordaz has been working as a Senior Interpreter in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services for over three years.  She has an A.S. degree in Sign Language Interpreting for the Deaf from El Camino College.  She has been a post secondary interpreter for nine years and has six years experience of community trilingual interpreting in a variety of settings. She currently holds NIC Advanced Certification through Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.  Vanessa enjoys working for MT. SAC.

Brandi Williams has been Senior Interpreter for Disabled Student Programs & Services for two years.  She graduated from Mt. Sac Spring 2002 with her A.A. in Liberal Arts and A.S. in Sign Language Interpreting.  She has been interpreting for eight years in a variety of settings;  such as K-12, post-secondary, and community.  She currently holds NIC Master Certification through Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

Harold E. Richardson was associated with the DSP&S Department since 1995 and full time from 1999, until his retirement in 2011.  He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Redlands.  Mr. Richardson has worked in the defense and aerospace electronic sectors for 20 years and in the area of students with disabilities for 10 years.  Current areas of specialty include assistive hardware and software.
