The Consumer Science & Design Technologies Department offers career path programs for a variety of educational needs -- whether you are a student desiring to learn about the Culinary ArtsFashion,Hospitality / Restaurant Management, Nutrition, Family & Consumer Science, or Interior Design industries; obtain a certificate, or pursue an Associate degree.

Consumer Studies

The Family and Consumer Sciences Program at Mt. SAC provides classes which prepare students to face the real world challenges of personal finance, life management, and consumer strategies.  

Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts Program prepares students for entry level career opportunities in restaurants, catering, hotels, theme parks, and other food service businesses. 

Fashion Design

The Fashion Program at Mt. SAC offers courses that feature the latest technology related to their respective fields taught by experienced industry professionals. Our hands-on curriculum for Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Design and Technologies are continuously updated to reflect current trends in the apparel industry.  

Hospitality Management

The hospitality industry is the fastest growing industry in the world and is open to people of various talents and skill levels. In addition, a career in hospitality is one of the most fun careers in the business field.

Interior Design

Interior Design is a rapidly growing profession that requires both creativity and technical knowledge to solve design problems. Mt. SAC will prepare you for careers in residential,restaurant, retail, corporate and business interior design.

Nutrition

Whether you are interested in a career in nutrition and dietetics, or simply want to learn more about making wise food choices to improve your health and energy, the Nutrition and Foods program offers classes to help you reach your goal.
