Summer Swim Lessons

Group Swim Lessons

Group Swim Lessons for children, (ages 5+) provides swim instruction for beginners through advanced. Qualified Water Safety Instructors teach all classes. Placement of students into specific classes depends on age and skill level of participants and will be determined by teaching staff at the first class meeting.  This course falls under the Critical Thinking, Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcome (ILO)
 Student Learning Objectives:
1) Student will be able to safely swim to the wall if they fall in the pool
2) Student will be able to float on their back No makeup lessons will be allowed and no refunds will be issued for Swim Lessons.
 
Group Swim Lessons for Adults, (ages 16+) provides swim instruction for beginners through advanced. Qualified Water Safety Instructors teach all classes. You will be placed in a class with other adults.   This course falls under the Critical Thinking, Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcome (ILO) 
 Student Learning Objectives:
1) Front and Back float
2) Correct execution of the Freestyle stroke
We make no guarantee that a specific instructor will be assigned to you. Please let us know your child's Red Cross Swimming Level.  You can do this by going on their student profile and checking the appropriate box for the level.

  • Four sessions are offered this summer.
  • Two-week classes, 30 minute each, Monday thru Thursday, offered 3:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Placement of students into specific classes depends on age and skill level of the participants and will be determined by teaching staff at the first class meeting.
  • Mommy/Daddy and Me classes are available for children 1-4 years old. Two-week classes, 30 minute each, Monday thru Thursday at 4, 5, 6 p.m.
  • No make-up lessons will be allowed
  • No refunds regardless of circumstances.
  • Payment must be made at the time of on-line registration (via credit card MC, Visa, or Discover).
  • Make all checks payable to: Mt San Antonio College.
 Fee:  $60 per two-week session.

Private Swim Lessons

Private Swim Lessons provide swim instruction for both children and adults, beginners through advanced.  Qualified Water Safety Instructors teach all classes.  Private lessons are taught on a one-on-one basis.  Mommy/Daddy & Me classes are available for children 1-4 years old. This course falls under the Critical Thinking, Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcome (ILO) 
 Student Learning Objectives:
1) Student will be able to safely swim to the wall if they fall in the pool
2) Student will be able to float on their back

Intro to Competitive Swimming

Students enrolling in Intro to Competitive Swimming should be able to swim all 4 competitive swimming strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle) a minimum distance of 25 yards of each.  In this class the emphasis is placed on preparing the student for competitive swimming.  The student must be comfortable in deep water and a level 5 Red Cross swimmer.  This course falls under the Critical Thinking, Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcome (ILO) 
 Student Learning Objectives:
1) Student will be able to swim Freestyle for at least 200 yards continuously
2) Student will be able to correctly execute the four competitive strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle).
 
Fee:  $90 per two-week session.

SUMMER SWIM REGISTRATION DATES AND TIMES

  • Payment must be made at the time of on-line registration (via credit card MC, Visa, or Discover)
  • Checks/cash OK with in-person registration at pool during normal hours of operation *(see above)
  • Priority—First come, first served
 
PARKING REGULATIONS
Valid Summer parking permits are required.  Parking regulations are enforced in all lots 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Permits are valid only in student lots. Violators will be cited. 
  • Summer Parking Permits: $25 (summer permits available at the Bursar's Office in Bldg. 9A - Must have a Banner ID to purchase. You can also purchase one using your Mt. SAC Portal Account - Click here for instructions)
  • DAY-USE Parking Permit:  $4 Dispenser available on Bonita Drive, just south of Temple Avenue. Day-use permits are good for the date of purchase only, and they will allow persons to park their vehicles in any student parking lot. Day-use parking permits are not valid in metered parking stalls or pay lots.
  • Metered Parking Spaces are also available throughout the campus (15 min. for $.25).
