Tan-Goulet Scholarship

For Excellence in Speech Communication

Background:

The Tan-Goulet Scholarship, named after Mt. SAC Communication Professors Colleen Tan and Helen Goulet, was established to recognize student achievement in Speech Communication.

Eligibility:

  • This scholarship is awarded to Communication (Speech) majors who have completed at least 10 units in SPCH courses at Mt. SAC by the end of Spring Semester. Students must submit unofficial transcripts to confirm units.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and be in good standing with the College.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Students who are Communication majors and currently in good standing with the club based on the current advisors’ standards.

Application Process:

Students must submit the official Mt. SAC scholarship and then select Tan-Goulet scholarship.

Forensics Team

Anderson-McLeod Scholarship

For Excellence in Forensics

Background:

The Anderson-McLeod Scholarship, named after Mt. SAC Communication Professors Lavelle Anderson and Molly McLeod, was established to recognize student achievement in Forensic participation.  

Eligibility:

  • This Scholarship is awarded to current forensics team competitors who have successfully completed two semesters of forensics. Students must submit unofficial transcripts to confirm forensics units. 
  • We may also award an “outstanding first-year team member” to a student in his/her first year of competition who exemplifies the qualities of strong work ethic, teamwork, and dedication to improvement
  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 and be in good standing with the College. 

Application Process:

Students must submit the official Mt. SAC scholarship and then select Anderson-McLeod scholarship.
