Mt. SAC Trustees Chen Haggerty, Hall Re-elected
WALNUT, Calif.—Incumbents Judy Chen Haggerty and Dr. David K. Hall were re-elected to the Mt. San Antonio College Board of Trustees for another four-year term in the Nov. 3 election. They were the two leading candidates, with Chen Haggerty capturing 26,403 votes (42.3%) and Hall garnering 24,538 votes (39.3%).Hall currently serves the board as vice president, while Chen Haggerty serves as clerk of the board, which establishes policy for California’s largest single-campus community college with an annual student population of over 65,000. They join three other publicly elected trustees (Fred Chyr, Dr. Manuel Baca, and Rosanne Bader) as well as a student trustee, Xavier Padilla.
First elected in 2001, Chen Haggerty has completed two terms on the Mt. SAC board. Professionally she is a managing director/attorney for the law offices of Edward J. Haggerty, P.C. A Rowland Heights resident for over 25 years, she is also a law professor at Rio Hondo College and the University of Phoenix. In the community, Chen Haggerty has served on the boards of directors for the Mt. SAC Foundation, Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, American Red Cross, the La Puente Valley Regional Occupational Program, FORUS Foundation (Rowland Unified School District) and the Rowland Heights Chinese Association.
Hall now begins a fourth board term and holds distinction as the longest-serving Mt. SAC trustee since 1995. Professionally, Hall is senior vice president of Hitchcock Automotive Resources in City of Industry, one of the nation’s largest privately owned retail automotive groups. He also chairs the Human Resources and Security Management Committee for the Industry Manufacturers Council and is president of the Southern California Agriculture and Nutrition Foundation. In the community, he serves on the San Gabriel Valley YMCA board and supports a wide variety of local service, business and community groups.
A San Dimas resident, Hall has been widely recognized for his professional and civic accomplishments, including the San Gabriel Valley YWCA’s Community Commitment Award, the Puente Hills Area Chamber of Commerce Silver Service Award, and the American Heart Association’s Exceptional Service Award.
