Mt. SAC to Stage Shakespeare’s “As You Like It”

WALNUT, Calif.–– The Mt. San Antonio College Theater Program will stage its production of William Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, June 4-6, 8 p.m., in Mt. SAC’s Studio Theater. A special 2 p.m. matinee performance will be held Sunday, June 7.

“All the world’s a stage” in Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy set in the mythical Forest of Arden where possibility and longing dwell side by side in a golden wonderland and all the rules are turned on their heads. The enchanting Rosalind, daughter of the Duke, is persecuted and flees to Arden disguised as a young boy to woo her love-at-first-sight, the noble Orlando. There’s music, dance, silliness, dazzling talk, heartbreaking beauty, and a dash of wisdom. Theater Professor Chris Coddington directs this Mt. SAC production.

Tickets are $12 for general admission, and $9 for seniors, students and children under 12.

Mt. SAC to Stage Spring Dance Concert

WALNUT, Calif.–– The Mt. San Antonio College Dance Department will perform a variety of dance styles at its Annual Spring Dance Concert on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 29 -31, at the college’s Sophia Clarke Theater. Performance times are 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with a special 5 p.m. performance on Sunday, May 31.

The Spring Dance Concert features a variety of dance styles, including modern, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary dance. Choreographed by talented Mt. SAC students, the spring concert has something for everyone.

Tickets are $12 for general admission, and $9 for seniors, students and children under 12.

Registration for Mt. SAC’s Summer Session Begins May 13

WALNUT, Calif.–– New and continuing students can register for Mt. San Antonio College's 2009 summer session credit classes online starting May 13 through June 17.

Beginning with the six –week summer session, new and continuing students must register for classes online at Before registering, students will be required to activate their new Mt. SAC accounts at This site provides detailed instructions on establishing the student online accounts. Students will receive a permit for their assigned registration date and time. They will not be allowed to register before their assigned time.

For students who do not have computer access, computers and assistance will be available in the Student Services Center, building 9B, during business hours. Telephone registration is no longer available.

New students must submit an admission application online at They may also apply in person at the Admissions & Records Office on campus, located in the Student Services Center. The Admissions Office is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. New students must also contact the Counseling Office to sign up for the required orientation session before registering for classes.

Mt. SAC’s summer session credit classes begin on Monday, June 22.

Mt. SAC Art Gallery Hosts 61st Student Exhibition

WALNUT, Calif.–– The 61st Annual Mt. San Antonio College Student Art Exhibition will open Tuesday, May 5, and runs through Thursday, May 21, in the Mt. SAC Art Gallery. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

The annual show is a juried event and features the best original work by Mt. SAC art, photography, and animation students. A special opening reception with entertainment and refreshments will be held Tuesday, May 5, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Evening hours are held on Tuesdays from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
