ADJUNCT PROFESSOR, PHYSICS
PHYSICS AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTTHIS IS A TEMPORARY, HOURLY AS NEEDED POSITION WITHOUT PERMANENT STATUS
SALARY: $68.48 PER LECTURE HOUR EQUIVALENT (Adjunct are placed on salary schedule)
DUTIES: Teach Introductory Physics Workshop style physics courses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. One of the following:
1. Master's in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics;
2. OR bachelor's in physics or astronomy AND master's in engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or geophysics.
3. OR possession of a California credential authorizing service as an instructor in the appropriate discipline at the community college level; ANDB. Commitment to the community college goals/objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests; personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural student environment; awareness and commitment to the special needs of non-traditional students; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with diverse groups of physics students in a classroom setting.
Familiarity with research based workshop or studio style physics course.
Experience with computer based laboratories.
