PROFESSOR, ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

THIS IS A TEMPORARY, HOURLY AS NEEDED POSITION WITHOUT PERMANENT STATUS

SALARY: $ 67.14 PER LECTURE HOUR EQUIVALENT

DUTIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching courses in Anatomy and Physiology such as Introductory Human Anatomy and Physiology (ANAT 10A and 10B), Human Anatomy (ANAT 35), and Human Physiology (ANAT 36). Assignments may include late afternoon and evening hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
A. One of the following:
1. Master's in any biological science; OR
2. Bachelor's in any biological science AND Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science; OR
3. The equivalent; AND
B. Commitment to the community college goals/objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests; personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural student environment; awareness and commitment to the special needs of non-traditional students; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Preferred:
A. Experience with cat dissection.
B. Experience working with human cadavers.
C. Experience with computer data acquisition systems for physiology (such as Biopac or Powerlab).

Applications will be evaluated, taking into account the breadth and depth of relevant education, training, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. Selected applicants will be invited for an oral interview which will include a 10 minute teaching demonstration on a topic provided in advance of the interview date.

The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, College resources, needs, and Board of Trustees' approval. Applications will be accepted throughout the year.
