2009-2010PROFESSOR, LIBRARIAN – REFERENCE/INSTRUCTION
THIS IS A TEMPORARY, HOURLY AS NEEDED POSITION WITHOUT PERMANENT STATUS.
Position open until filled.
SALARY: $43.64 PER HOUR.
DUTIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing reference services, teaching information competency instruction sessions, workshops, and credit classes, and participating in collection development activities. Assignments may include early morning, late afternoon, evening and weekend hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
A. Master’s degree in Library Science or Library & Information Science; AND
B. Commitment to the community college goals/objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests; personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural student environment; awareness and commitment to the special needs of non-traditional students; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Preferred:
A. Recent experience with providing reference services.
B. Recent experience with teaching information competency sessions, workshops, and/or credit classes.
