Fashion Design and Merchandising

Fashion is one of the largest industries in California.  Apparel design and manufacturing alone account for one in 10 jobs in Los Angeles county.  The fashion field focuses on the social, economic, and technological aspects of clothing and textiles and prepares students for careers in fashion design, manufacturing, retailing, and promotion.

The term "fashion" is broad, encompassing not only apparel merchandise but home furnishings, sports, toys, foods, and most other consumer products.  Career fields are growing each year and include film and entertainment, advertising, product development, manufacturing, marketing, distribution, and sales.    We invite you to explore our Program website and the possibilities that await you as a Fashion Design and Merchandising professional.
