Nursing her career to health!
Grace Zhang was a physician practicing in her native Shanghai before immigrating to the United States a few years ago. After learning of the severe nationwide shortage of nurses, she changed career paths and pursued nursing at Mt. SAC.
“The Registered Nurse program was excellent and academically demanding,” says Grace, who was a member of the largest nursing class to graduate from Mt. SAC in 2005. “I got so much more than exceptional medical training. Mt. SAC also taught me how to speak English, which will enable me to communicate well with the hospital staff and serve my patients better.” Upon receiving her A.S. degree and passing the state R.N. exam, she started her career at Whittier Presbyterian Hospital and specialize in cardiac/critical care nursing. “I now have the confidence to be the best at whatever I do,” she says.
