Dr. Manuel Baca was
elected to the Mt. San Antonio College Board
of Trustees in November 1999 and reelected
in 2003 and 2007. Baca is a career educator with
some 30 years of experience within the
state university and community college systems.
He currently teaches government and business
law/management at Rio Hondo College. He has held a number of
community college administrative positions,
including Interim President at Rio Hondo.
He has also held a number of statewide advisory
positions within the community colleges
system.
In 2005, Dr. Baca served on the
California Community Colleges System Strategic
Plan Steering Committee. As a member, he worked with other statewide
leaders to develop the System Strategic
Plan for California.
Dr. Baca earned Bachelor
and Master degrees from California State
University, Fullerton and a Ph.D.
from the University of Southern California.
Long active in civic, educational
and business interests and associations
within the Greater San Gabriel Valley, Dr.
Baca is immediate past president of the
Kiwanis of Walnut Valley and a mentor with
the El Monte Union High School District
(Graphic Arts & Communications Academy).
He is also a member of the 32nd Congressional
District's U.S. Military Academies
Advisory Committee. He is
a Charter Member of the Chinese American
Museum of Los Angeles and has assisted with
the museum's fund-raising efforts.
Dr. Baca
is a past member of the Rio Hondo Symphony
Association (Whittier) and continues to
support its activities.
He is also a past member of the Los Angeles
and the Rio Hondo (Bell Gardens)
