First Census data is the first instructional day
of the fourth week, which has traditionally
been used by many community colleges and reporting
agencies to obtain an initial "snapshot" of
enrollment early in a term. The fourth week
is nearest to one-fifth of the number of weeks
in a regular 18-week credit term. First Census
data is the earliest viable measurement a college
has in analyzing its student body. It is for
this reason that the Office of Research and
Institutional Effectiveness uses first census
as its initial measurement of student
enrollment at the College.
Each Enrollment Analysis report provides detailed term
information on ALL students (Credit, Non-Credit,
and Community Services). Because of the complexity
of the first census date during summer terms,
these reports will not be provided.
DATA LIMITATION: The Enrollment Analysis report
counts include only students who are actively
enrolled at the time the program is run. These
numbers are snapshots, which may or may not
match other term-based reports.
