HUMAN RESOURCES POLICIES

Equal Opportunity Policy

Mt. SAC is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we promote the view that all persons shall receive equal employment and educational opportunities without regard to sex, race, color, ancestry, religious creed, national origin, age (over 40), medical condition (cancer), mental disability, physical disability (including HIV & AIDS) marital status, sexual orientation, or Vietnam Era Veteran Status. This nondiscrimination policy applies to all aspects of the College’s human resources-related functions and activities, including recruitment, selection, employment, training, reclassification, promotion and retention of employees. It also covers Family and Medical Care Leave and Pregnancy Disability Leave.

Sexual Harassment Policy

Mt. SAC does not tolerate sexual harassment, as it is a form of sex discrimination which is counter to our College mission. Sexual harassment is particularly serious when it threatens relationships—whether it is between a teacher and student or a supervisor and subordinate, or peer to peer. Sexual harassment is classically defined as unwelcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other verbal, visual or physical conduct of a sexual nature—be it implied or explicit.
